Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 10, 2026
This policy explains what information Own The Bid collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. Own The Bid is operated by Joseph Gomez, a sole proprietor based in Los Angeles, California. We keep this short and plain, the same way we run everything else.
What this website collects
This website is a set of static pages. It sets no advertising or tracking cookies and runs no ad pixels. You can read every page without giving us anything. There are two places where you can choose to hand over information: the free teardown tool and the booking step, both described below.
The free teardown tool
On the teardown page you can enter your website address, answer a few questions about how leads reach you, and optionally give your email. We use your website address to run an automated scan of your site, which is run through Google's PageSpeed Insights service (Google receives the website address you enter), and your answers to score your lead system and build your fix plan. You can leave the email blank and still see your score on the page.
If you give your email, we send you your fix plan by email. If you also check the box to get the follow-up series, we store your email address, your name, your answers, and your score in our own database (hosted on Cloudflare) so we can send you a short set of automated emails over a few weeks about the gaps in your lead system and how to fix them. Every one of those emails has a one-click unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time. We send these through our email provider, and we may keep these details in a customer-relationship tool we use to follow up with you; both act on our behalf and under our instructions. We do not sell this information.
We keep your teardown details only to send your fix plan and, if you opted in, the follow-up series. If you unsubscribe, we stop the series and keep only a minimal record so we do not email you again. You can ask us to delete your information at any time (see Your California privacy rights below).
When you book a call
When you book a call, you are sent to Calendly, our scheduling tool. Calendly collects the details you enter to book: your name, your phone number, your email address, your timezone, and any answers you give to the booking questions. Calendly handles its side of that data under its own privacy policy. We also keep our own copy of those booking details (your name, email address, phone number, timezone, and your answers to the booking questions) in our own database, hosted on Cloudflare.
We use those details to confirm the call, to send you reminders (including a text reminder if you give a phone number), and to be ready when we speak. After the call, we may also send you promotional follow-up emails about our service, for example if you tell us you are still deciding or if we miss each other on the call. Every one of those emails has an unsubscribe link. If you unsubscribe, we stop sending them and keep only a minimal record so we do not email you again.
Analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views and see which pages are read. Cloudflare Web Analytics is privacy-light. It sets no cookies and does not collect personal information or build a profile of you. That is why this site shows no cookie banner: there is no tracking cookie to ask you about. We also use error monitoring (Sentry) that may record technical error details, including an IP address, to keep the site working; it sets no advertising cookies and does not build a profile of you.
Hosting
This site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare keeps standard server logs that can include an IP address, for security and to keep the site running. We do not use those logs to identify or market to you.
If you email or phone us
If you email [email protected] or call our phone number, we receive what you choose to send: your message, your email address or phone number, and anything else you include. We use it only to reply to you.
If you are a client of Own The Bid
When a contractor becomes a client, we build the contractor's lead system inside the contractor's own accounts: their Meta ad account, their site, their CRM, their business phone number, their Google Business Profile. We are given operator access to run those accounts. We do not own them, and the data inside them belongs to the contractor.
Leads submitted through a client's lead system never reach us. A homeowner who fills out a form on a client's site has their information routed into that client's CRM and that client's business phone. We do not receive, copy, store, export, share, or sell that lead data. Lead data belongs to the client and is governed by the client's own privacy practices, not ours.
A client's lead system can include an AI voice agent that calls the client's leads, optional call recording (only with the consumer's consent, and only where the client turns it on), and text messaging. All of that runs in the client's own accounts under the client's own name, and is governed by the client's privacy practices, not ours. We do not receive, store, or sell those calls, recordings, transcripts, or messages.
During the engagement, we may see lead-volume and cost-per-lead numbers in the client's ad account or CRM as part of operating the system. We use those numbers only to run and improve the client's campaigns. When the engagement ends, our operator access is removed within five business days. We retain no copies of the client's lead data.
The companies that help us run this
We keep the outside services we rely on to a short list, and each one acts on our behalf and under our instructions for the purpose named:
- A website host and database provider (Cloudflare), to serve the pages and store the teardown details you opt to give us.
- An email provider, to send your fix plan and the opt-in follow-up series.
- A customer-relationship tool, to keep your first name and your follow-up status so we know what to send you next.
- A scheduling tool (Calendly), to book your call and send reminders, including a text reminder if you give a phone number.
- Google's PageSpeed Insights, to run the automated speed scan on the website address you enter.
- An AI voice and SMS provider, which powers the callback system we build for clients. For a client, this runs in the client's own accounts under the client's name, not ours. We do not receive, store, or sell those calls or messages.
- Error monitoring (Sentry), to record technical error details so the site keeps working.
We do not name these as vendors you contract with; they are tools we use to deliver what you asked for. We do not sell your information to any of them or to anyone else.
How we use your information
- To send you the free fix plan you asked for on the teardown.
- To send you the opt-in follow-up series, until you unsubscribe.
- To schedule, confirm, and prepare for a call with you.
- To send you promotional follow-up emails after a booked call, until you unsubscribe.
- To reply to a question you send us by email or phone.
- To provide our service if you become a client.
- To keep the website secure and working.
We keep this information only as long as we need it for the purposes above. After that, we delete it.
We do not sell your information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not trade or rent it. We share information only with the tools named above that are needed to run the teardown, the booking, and the website, and only for that purpose.
Cookies
This website does not set advertising or tracking cookies. The scheduling tool may set its own cookies on its own pages when you go there to book; that is governed by its policy, not ours.
Categories of information, why we hold it, and who sees it
To keep this clear, here is what we collect, why, and who it is shared with:
- Identifiers and contact details (your first name, email address, phone number): collected on the teardown and the booking step, used to send your fix plan, run the follow-up series you opted into, and confirm your call. Shared with our email provider, our customer-relationship tool, and the scheduling tool, only for those purposes.
- Your answers and your website address (how leads reach you, your site URL): collected on the teardown, used to score your lead system and build your fix plan. The website address is shared with Google's PageSpeed Insights and the speed scan.
- Technical and usage data (page-view counts, error details, an IP address in server and error logs): collected automatically, used to keep the site secure and working. Held by our host, our analytics, and our error monitoring.
We do not collect sensitive personal information, we do not use this data for advertising profiles, and we do not sell or share it. We keep each category only as long as we need it for the purpose above, then delete it.
Your California privacy rights
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, gives you the right to:
- Know what personal information we have collected about you.
- Request a copy of that information.
- Request that we correct inaccurate information.
- Request that we delete your information.
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of your information. We do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing here to opt out of.
- Not be treated differently for using any of these rights.
To use any of these rights, email [email protected] or call (747) 745-5837. We will confirm your request and respond within the time the law allows.
Children
This site and this service are for business owners. They are not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
